These converters provide RS422 or RS485 communications from an RS232 port without the need for external power. This feature is especially useful at the remote end of communication links where power sources are not readily available. Used in pairs, these converters can extend serial port communication up to 1.2km. For greater distances, use the TCC-120 RS485 repeater.

Since the Model 485 was first introduced by Amplicon over 20 years ago, thousands have been successfully installed by our customers to convert RS232 devices to RS422/485 compliant ones. Alternatively, when used in pairs, they can be used to extend the range of an RS232 port up to 1.2km.

The TCC-100 allows RS232 devices to connect directly to an industrial RS422 or RS485 network and transmit data up to 1.2km. Automatic baud rate detection means that no software or hardware changes are required. Just plug in the unit and go. The TCC-100I provides up to 2kV of isolation. This is recommended over longer cable runs or where ground potential differences can occur between host and client devices. Industry standard DIN rail or panel mount options enable fast and professional installation.
