The Lifeline
MAGMA's patented PCI Expansion Technology is incorporated into a short 'universal' PCI card, extending the PCI Bus outside of your host computer. Our 1 to 1.5 meter flexible cable provides a high-speed communication link from your computer or server to our PCI Expansion System.

Optional drive bays are available to accommodate up to eight internal 3.5" disk drives. Magma's patented 7 Slot, 64-bit/33MHz PCI-to-PCI Expansion Systems provide seven 64-bit/33MHz PCI slots in a separate enclosure (rack-mount or tower) that connects to a host desktop or server through an available PCI slot. Utilizing patented PCI expansion technology, everything installed in the enclosure actually acts as if it's inside the host computer. This is accomplished by the chassis communicating to the host via a 1 or 1.5 meter cable and a short 'universal' PCI host card providing up to a 264MB/second data transfer rate between the host computer and the hardware within the chassis.
