IC232 => 1 x RS232 opto-isolated - ruggedized !

The IC232 is a unique way to add a single RS232 opto-isolated asynchronous serial port to your laptop, PDA, or desktop (using one of Elan's Desktop PCMCIA adapters).  Using an optically isolated port means that there is no direct galvanic connection between your computer and the terminal equipment you are plugged in to.  This means no possibility of ground loops or hazardous potentials that could occur with non isolated cards. For more information about Linux support please click here

The card automatically configures to become another COM port by using the built-in O.S. drivers that are tried and tested and are optimized to work in the Windows environment.

Technical Features:
16C550 UART with 16-byte TX and RX FIFOs for high speed and reliable communications up to 115KBaud.

QSP100 - 4 x RS232

The QSP-100 is a PCMCIA card which adds four fully independent RS-232 serial ports to the system. It can be used in any laptop or notebook computer with a Type II PCMCIA drive, or in a desktop computer equipped with a compatible PCMCIA drive.

The QSP-100 utilises 16550 UARTs that contain 16 byte transmit and receive FIFOs for increased performance in multi-tasking environments, and with applications involving high data rates. Each of these UARTs requires eight bytes of I/O space when enabled, thus the QSP-100 must be located on an even 32 byte (20H) boundary and users may select on which I/O address space the card will be located (e.g. 300H, 320H, 240H, etc). The four serial ports on the QSP-100 can share a single interrupt using an interrupt status register to indicate which of the four ports triggered the interrupt. This interrupt status register is implemented on the UARTs seldom used "ScratchPad" register. If an application requires use of the UART's ScratchPad registers, the interrupt status register can be easily disabled.

Technical Features:
Baud rate: 115.2kbps max
Bus interface: PCMCIA Card Standard 2.1
UART: 16550
Power requirement: 5Vdc @ 26 mA typical, 34 mA max
PCMCIA connector: Standard 33 pin 0.8 mm shielded connector
Handshaking: Full RS232 specification on all channels
OS support: Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, CE & DOS
