P-Series Diagnostics Utility

Some early Pentium/486 based PC with PCI slots may not meet the minimum hardware requirements for a CardBus Adapter, this diagnostics utility allows you to test you PC for correct BIOS support. It also provides diagnostics for debugging installation problems.

FAQ & Trouble Shooting - PCCARD Drives

If you have a problem: Firstly, please make sure that you are using the current P-series drivers and that these are installed on your PC. It is also worth checking that the operating system that you are using is supported by our drivers (See our list of supported operating systems & specifications, please note that in NT4 you will require SP6).

Guide for Linux Users

The Linux software package that deals with pcmcia cards is "pcmcia-cs" available from http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ as a download file (for which the latest version is "pcmcia-cs-3.2.7.tar.gz")

At Elan, the PCMCIA Card Services versions 3.1.19 and 3.2.7 have been most extensively tested against, but we have every reason the believe that later versions also function correctly.

Guide for Mac O/S Users

Elan do not provide drivers for Apple Mac machines, however there is some patchy native support for the P111 (single rear slot model) which appears to be the only model supported by MAC O/S.

We have tested a P111 (fitted with the TI1211 chip) successfully in a PowerMac G4 466MHz with AGP running MAC O/S 9.1 - No additional driver software was required.
